Maltodextrin is a non-sweet, nutritive saccharide that is produced as a white, odorless powder. It is an ideal carrier, filler, and product extender. It is readily dispersible and readily soluble, yet has very low hygroscopic characteristics. It is used in dry mixes, spray-dried foods, frozen foods, confections, bakery items, non-dairy products, and snack foods.
